Selection principle of horizontal spiral belt mixer: Many users choose the existing vertical cone mixing equipment in China for powder/powder mixing equipment. However, experts suggest that due to the many disadvantages and high maintenance rate of vertical cone mixers, horizontal mixers should be selected for powder/powder or granular material mixing. This equipment has high mixing efficiency, good mixing quality, short discharge time, and low residual amount.

However, when selecting and using a horizontal mixer, the following points should be noted: 

  1. Choose a horizontal mixer based on daily production volume. Due to the processing time of each batch of materials in the mixer being about 10 minutes, plus the time for discharging and feeding, the processing time for each batch of materials can be calculated as 15 minutes. Therefore, 4 batches of materials can be processed continuously in 1 hour. If a mixer with a processing capacity of 100 kilograms per batch is selected, it can process 400 kilograms per hour. Users can choose a horizontal mixer according to their own needs.

  2. According to the working principle of the horizontal spiral belt mixer, the ability of the double spiral belt used for stirring and mixing to push materials in opposite directions should be basically consistent. Due to the fact that the pitch of the inner spiral belt is equal to that of the outer spiral belt, in order to achieve consistent material pushing ability, the width of the inner spiral belt should be greater than that of the outer spiral belt, otherwise it will cause the material to concentrate in one direction. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to this when choosing a horizontal mixer.

  3. According to the design principle, the gap between the spiral belt and the shell in the spiral belt mixer can be 4-10mm, and the material can be driven by friction to participate in the mixing process. However, due to the different particle sizes and friction coefficients of the materials, the mixing time of various components of the materials will vary, resulting in unevenness of the product. Some manufacturers have realized this and made improvements to their products. One is to pay attention to machining accuracy and reduce the bottom gap to about 3 millimeters; Another way is to make the position between the spindle and the housing adjustable, and adjust the gap between the spiral belt and the housing frequently according to the wear amount. When choosing a mixer, these two forms of products should be the best choice.

    4. When choosing a horizontal spiral belt mixer, attention should be paid to the discharge method. It is necessary to communicate with suppliers in a         timely manner to choose a valve form that is suitable for one's own process, and not to choose a side outlet discharge form. The reason is that when the mixer completes mixing and blending within the specified time, releasing the mixture in one go can ensure the uniformity of the material in the shortest possible time; If the side spiral belt is gradually emptied, it will delay time and fail to achieve the expected productivity. Secondly, the material has already reached the optimal uniformity, and excessive mixing will cause material segregation and damage the uniformity, thus losing the significance of using a horizontal mixer. 

5. When using a horizontal mixer, pay attention to the order of feeding. Generally, large materials, such as corn meal, soybean meal, etc., are put in first, and then group materials, such as premix, are put in. Note that the premix should not be fed by a screw elevator. Instead, it should be fed by a disposable tipping bucket or manually, which can avoid the segregation and loss of effective ingredients in the premix. 

6. When using a horizontal mixer, batch feeding should be done after the mixer is started. Do not stop the machine when the mixing is completed and the material is discharged before mixing another batch. If starting after full load, it will cause the power distance to be too large and burn out the motor. In short, choosing a suitable horizontal mixer and using it properly will significantly improve the quality of the mixture and soon reflect positive effects in the production process. If we can further master the technology of self mixing and blending, it can greatly reduce material costs and thus increase profits. The discharge method for powder materials adopts a pneumatic large door structure, which has the advantages of fast discharge and no residue; For high fineness materials or semi fluid materials, manual butterfly valves or pneumatic butterfly valves are used. Configurable heating or cooling jacket. There are two heating methods: electric heating and thermal oil heating. The cooling process can directly inject cooling water into the jacket, which has a large heat exchange area and fast cooling speed. The small-sized mixer adopts a direct connection method with a reducer, which has a simple structure, high operational reliability, and easy maintenance. The large-scale mixer is driven by a pulley driven cycloidal reducer, and the elastic connection of the belt transmission has the advantage of protecting the transmission components in case of overload.
