Spiral belt mixer is a device used for mixing viscous or cohesive powder particles and paste materials. It achieves efficient mixing through the convective motion of inner and outer spiral belts and is widely used in pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other fields.

Structure and Working Principle

The core structure of the spiral belt mixer includes a U-shaped container, double-layer or three-layer spiral belt blades, and transmission components. Its working principle is based on the coordinated motion of the inner and outer spiral belts: the inner spiral belt pushes the material from the axis to the outside, and the outer spiral belt collects the material from the barrel wall to the center, forming a convective vortex, allowing the material to mix quickly and evenly in a low-power environment. This design is particularly suitable for handling materials with high viscosity or large differences in specific gravity (such as putty, real stone paint), and the mixing time is usually only 3-15 minutes. ‌

Technical Parameters and Application Fields

Technical parameters: The equipment model covers a volume of 0.25m ³ to 10m ³, with a single mixing capacity of 100-6000kg and a motor power of 3-75kW. Specific parameters vary depending on the model (for example, LHY-1 type has a mixing capacity of 400-600kg and a power of 7.5-15kW). ‌

Application areas:

Chemical and Building Materials: Used for mixing viscous materials such as dry powder mortar, putty paste, and real stone paint. ‌

Food and Medicine: The stainless steel version meets hygiene requirements and is suitable for the production of feed, drugs, and additives. ‌

New energy and metallurgy: batch mixing of materials with high specific gravity such as lithium battery materials and metal powders.

Difference from other mixers

The main differences between spiral belt mixer and double spiral cone mixer are reflected in:

Structural design: The spiral belt mixer adopts a horizontal U-shaped cylinder, and is mixed by convection through a horizontal axis spiral belt; The conical mixer is a vertical conical structure that relies on the self weight of the material falling and the shear effect for mixing. ‌

Applicable scenarios: Spiral belt mixer is more suitable for continuous operations with high viscosity and large output (such as coating production), while cone mixer is more suitable for fine mixing of small batches and multiple varieties (such as pharmaceutical reagents), but the mixing efficiency is lower
