After replacing the screw barrel of the waste plastic granulator, a specialized "running in" process is usually not required. However, it is recommended to conduct gradual trial operation and parameter debugging before formal full load production to ensure equipment stability and plasticization quality.
Although some devices may experience a slight increase in production capacity in the early stages of actual use, this is more due to the gradual optimization of operating parameters rather than the "running in" between mechanical components. Modern screw barrels are precision machined and matched before leaving the factory, with strict clearance control and no traditional mechanical running in requirements.
However, to ensure production stability, it is still recommended to adopt the following phased trial production measures:
Low load trial operation (50% -80% load)
It is recommended to operate the equipment at 50% -80% normal load for 48 hours and observe the temperature rise, current, and discharge uniformity of the equipment under actual working conditions. This stage helps to identify potential assembly issues or control system anomalies.
Gradually increase to full load
After confirming that there are no abnormalities during low load operation, the load can be increased by 10% -15% per hour until the target production capacity is reached, while real-time monitoring of screw torque, melt pressure, and temperature fluctuations.
Natural optimization of surface condition
There may be small burrs or machining marks on the surface of the new screw, which will become smooth due to material flow after 3-5 days of continuous operation. The smoothness of discharge and production capacity may increase by about half a pack to one pack, but this is a natural phenomenon in normal use and not a necessary "break in period".
Focus on precision and cleanliness in coordination
Ensure the concentricity of the screw and barrel assembly to avoid scratching.
Use clean raw materials (such as new PP/PE) for "washing" during the first operation to prevent impurities from scratching new components.
Check whether the heating coils and cooling air ducts in each section are working properly to prevent material degradation caused by local overheating.
